Vice Chancellor
Daniel Felix Ohide is a South Sudanese
academic and educational
leader. He serves as the
Vice Chancellor of Emmanuel Christian University (ECU), guiding the institution’s
mission to expand access to higher education and nurture academic excellence among
students from across South Sudan and beyond. His leadership role at ECU reflects his
commitment to quality education and community development.
Previously, he has also been Principal of Emmanuel Christian College in Goli–Yei, South
Sudan, and is co-author of academic research on education and teacher performance in the
region and is the author of the book “Education for Destiny”.

With profound gratitude to God, I am delighted to announce a significant milestone in the history of Emmanuel Christian University (ECU). In the 2026 Academic Year, ECU has surpassed a student population of 500, including the admission of 171 new students. This achievement reflects growing confidence in our vision, academic mission, and commitment to transforming lives in South Sudan and beyond.
TOur progress aligns with this year's theme, "Grounded in the Faithfulness of God." God's faithfulness has sustained ECU as we continue to provide education that is intellectually rigorous, ethically grounded, and spiritually formative. As John Dewey observed, "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." Guided by this vision, ECU is committed to developing graduates who are academically competent, morally responsible, spiritually grounded, and prepared to serve their communities with integrity.
We have continued to strengthen academic excellence through improved teaching, curriculum development, dedicated faculty, student support, and strategic partnerships. These achievements reflect the collective efforts of our staff, students, alumni, partners, and friends. I warmly welcome our 171 new students to the ECU family. Your journey here marks an exciting opportunity for intellectual, professional, and spiritual growth. I encourage all students to pursue excellence, integrity, and servant leadership.
