FACULTIES

The Faculty of Theology is designed primarily to equip those called into the ministry with ministry leadership and management skills in order to help provide good discipleship in their communities. It aims to serve students holistically through a Christ-centred curriculum, information literacy, academic community relations and other support services.

Emmanuel Christian University has played a very significant role in South Sudan as an agent of transformative education, training and equipping church leaders with academic excellence and professional skills at all levels. ECU students are efficiently equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to solve problems in the society. ECU Theology programs are designed to weather a scarcity of leadership with a solid Biblical foundation in the church and the development challenges that exists in the church, local communities and in the nation and beyond. The ECU Theological programs have been accredited by the national Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology.

The focus of the faculty is to enhance and develop future leaders, their God given talents, abilities, and skills to enable them to make positive contribution to the economic, social, and spiritual development of their communities, using modern scientifically based leadership and management tools and techniques

The Faculty of Business and Leadership Development is designed to equip students with effective business management and leadership skills, professional tools and techniques that will empower them to provide efficient service in the public and private business sectors. Core to this faculty is equipping of the business administration and leadership students with the requisite Christ Centered ethics, values and attitudes to enable them to improve on integrity and quality of their service.

The Faculty of Agriculture at Emmanuel Christian University (ECU) is dedicated to developing competent agricultural professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders who are equipped to address South Sudan's food security, economic, and environmental challenges. Rooted in the University's Christian values and commitment to community transformation, the Faculty combines academic excellence, practical training, and innovation to prepare graduates who will contribute meaningfully to national development.

Located in Yei, one of South Sudan's most fertile agricultural regions, the Faculty provides students with unique opportunities to engage directly with farming communities and agricultural enterprises. Through a blend of classroom instruction, field-based learning, research, and community outreach, students acquire the knowledge and practical skills necessary to improve agricultural productivity and promote sustainable livelihoods.

The Faculty emphasizes modern and sustainable agricultural practices, agribusiness management, natural resource stewardship, and climate-smart farming techniques. Students are trained to identify opportunities across agricultural value chains, apply innovative solutions to farming challenges, and promote responsible management of land, water, and other natural resources. Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of South Sudan's economy and a key pathway to poverty reduction, the Faculty prepares graduates for careers as agricultural extension officers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, farm managers, researchers, development practitioners, and policymakers. Graduates leave ECU equipped to strengthen food systems, create employment opportunities, enhance household incomes, and support the nation's long-term economic growth and resilience.
